When you look at something for a long time and then close your eyes, the indistinct outlines of these objects remain on the inner side of the eyelids. You can try to make out their exact details, but this is rarely possible and all that remains is to observe blurry silhouettes and guess which of them are real and which are just a figment of your imagination. In this painting I wanted to convey the feeling of seeing the flickering shadows in one's closed eyes.
